Our album, video shoot & suppport of UB40!

Sunday, October 02, 2016

STOP PRESS!!! ASA are producing a Christmas Album! The vocals are all now officially recorded, and it is now just up to Paul Humphries at Round Tower Music to mix it all, and get it submitted for distribution to the major download sites - Amazon Music, Google Pay & iTunes.

All of the album proceeds are being donated to The Mary Ann Evans Hospice in Nuneaton, so PLEASE get behind our local talent and worthwhile charity, and help us spread the word!

We are hoping for the album to be released in early November, when you can expect 13 tracks of awesome festive arrangements, stunning harmonies and sensational voices.

To support the album, we have also filmed a knock-out music video...our very own Band Aid. (Be sure to click below to watch it). Brian Travers of UB40 very kindly came along to our video shoot last Sunday, and recorded a video message endorsing the album. Thank you Brian for your generous support.

Acing the singing exams once again!

Tuesday, July 19, 2016

ASA students are invited to participate in 2 singing exam sessions per year with the London College of Music. They are required to perform up to 4 songs, from either the Musical Theatre or Popular Music genres. Each song is worked on technically, and then staged to transform their songs into full performances. It takes months of hard work, training and dedication to achieve the top mark of 'Distinction'. Entries were made from the beginner exam level of Step 1, right through to the highest grade, grade 8. Two students; Bonnie-Lee Stone and Georgina Mason achieved grade 8, passing with distinction, which is an incredible achievement. Our other results totalled 9 Distinctions and 1 Merit.

We extremely proud of the outstanding results the students have gained in this session. Whilst many students sing purely for pleasure, it is a wonderful achievement for those wishing to gain qualifications in singing, and perhaps look forward to pursuing a career in the arts.
